Wine Diamonds,Not Sediment
A few patrons have approached us with questions about “wine diamonds†or “bitartrate crystals†in their wines. Rest assured, this isn't sediment! Rarely, in our high-end wines (Classic Select and above) crystals appear after aging in the bottle. These are harmless, tasteless and actually, an indication of high quality.
NEVER worry about fruit flies again!
Try this FOOL-PROOF fruit fly trap method - it REALLY works!
March 2022
While the Ontario Government has removed the mandatory mask mandate as of March 21st 2022, The Peterborough Public Health Unit still highly recommends we continue to mask in indoor settings. Here is the link.
We and our staff will continue to wear our masks for the next few weeks at least and will re-evaluate this issue regularly.

As we head into the New Year and another lockdown, we remain so very grateful for your continued support of our small family business and we thank-you all from the bottom of our hearts for choosing us! As you know, Peterborough is now in a provincially mandated COVID-19 lockdown, until January 23rd at least. We are fortunately able to stay open but with very modified Here are the new procedures:
~Wine bottling appointments are one-at-a-time, two people maximum, same household only ~Wine making is also by appointment only. Please order and book online and/or call us to book an appointment to make your next batch of wine ~25% maximum occupancy means we must greatly restrict the number of people in the store (staff included) so the door will be locked, as needed to ensure no more than 9 people are inside our shoppe at one time ~Wear a mask, please distance 6 feet or more at all times and wash your hands or use our hand sanitizer often ~Please arrive on time for your appointment, but NOT EARLY. We hate to keep people waiting outside, especially this time of year but we must stick to the capacity restrictions. Also, to make things quicker, please consider taking your labels home to apply. ~We will be screening ourselves and our staff daily and we ask you to do the same for yourself. Please stay away if you’re not feeling well, if you have visited with anyone outside of your household in the previous 14 days or if you have traveled outside of the boundaries of our health unit. We all need to do our part to keep the people of our community safe! ï¸ Thank you in advance for your understanding and observance of these new rules. We are thankful that we continue to be able to serve you and thank you again for your support of our small business! Stay safe and Happy Holidays! Jennifer, Sarah and staff

May 24th 2020
It has been two months of a very different lifestyle, hasn’t it? It’s a whole new world. Many people are not working, some of us are still working or are back to work and students are all learning from home. We are shopping differently, walking/exercising a lot more and discovering new hobbies and interests. All ages and demographics have been affected in so many different ways. Thankfully, our area has been very lucky... let’s keep it up everyone!
We have some great news, especially for those of you with wine ready to bottle! Starting this Tuesday May 26th, we will be adding a few additional bottling appointments per day, by strategically opening both bottling stations. This will be done carefully and with great attention to social distancing and sanitization, as always. We look forward to being able to accommodate more of you, with these changes. We have created even more separation between the areas of our store and remind everyone to arrive on time, be patient and keep a safe distance from others :)
We’ve been asked a lot about face masks. 😷
We do not require face masks be worn, as social distancing is easily accommodated in our spacious store. However, if you’ve been told to wear one or feel better wearing one, please do! Just please remember: DO NOT touch your mask at all, while wearing it in our store. Doing so compromises the safety it provides you and others. It must fit tightly to your face and must not be touched. If you must adjust it, please wash or sanitise your hands immediately.

Call us if you have any questions or concerns. Stay safe!
